Mother's Day Flower Expo
6 - 9 May 2010
Vaal Mall hosted our third Flower Expo for Mother's Day in conjunction with
the Vaal Triangle Flower Association. The various arrangements were
displayed in the passages between Pick n Pay and Edgars as well as in the
Edgars and Woolworths courts. Themes included in this expo ranged from
Vertical Challenge, Christmas in May, Wired Fun to Sunset Boulevard.
Arcelor Mittal Athletics

Vaal Mall hosted the Arcelor Mittal Athletics Cub VUT Night Race on 24
March. 514 athletes participated in the race, which included a 5km
development race as well as a 10km and 15km race.
Vaal Mall Bridal Expo
Vaal Mall hosted our annual Bridal Expo from 22 - 24 April 2010.
A static fashion show was hosted by Be Spoilt and Models Unlimited.
Exhibitors to the Expo included Vaal Wed, E²Designs, Treasuries Photography, Bridal Bliss, Fairytale Designs and Le Chique Boutique.
Champion Tour @ Vaal Mall

The SARU Champion Tour stopped at Vaal Mall on Wednesday 10 March 2010 to
give the public from Vanderbijlpark the opportunity to see all the
International as well as National Rugby Cups currently held by South Africa.

Vaal Mall hosted the annual CANSA Shavathon on Saturday 6 March. Local
celebrities, tenants and the community joined in to help raise funds for
this worthy cause.
Vaal Mall Charity Money Hand Over

Vaal Mall together with various local charities hosted two wrapping station sat the Guest Relations Desk during the Festive Season. A total amount of R20, 000 was handed to these charities on Wednesday 6 January 2010. Charities that did benefit from the initiative was: Vanderbijlpark SPCA, Sasolburg Child Welfare, Life Line, Jeugland Old Age Home and Caring Friends.

Vaal Mall Gift Cards 13 July 2009
Ena Botha was the lucky winner of R20 000 in Vaal Mall Gift Cards. She
entered after shopping at Boutique Riandi. Customers had to spent R150 or
more at any store in Vaal Mall, complete the form, attach their till slip
and drop the form at any of the conveniently situated entry boxes. The draw

Vanderbijlpark, 16 January 2009. Vaal Mall handed over the Kia Picanto to the winner, Ms. Debby Kilpatrick of their December competition. The draw took place on 24 December 2008 at 14h00 and the winner was informed of her special Christmas gift. Vaal Mall together with Vereeniging Multi Franchise hosted a Shop & Win competition where customers had to spend R150.00 at any store in Vaal Mall, complete the entry form and hand it in at the Guest Relations Desks in the Ackermans and Pick n Pay courts.
Gift Wrapping Handover

Vanderbijlpark, 15 January 2009. Vaal Mall handed just over R18 000 to local charities in the area. The charities included Life Line Vanderbijlpark, Jeugland, Paws for People, SPCA and One Way Community Church. The money was collected during the Festive Season at the wrapping station situated at the Guest Relations Desks in the Ackermans and Pick n Pay courts. Vaal Mall would like to thank their customers for their generous donations and for opening their hearts to make a difference in the community.
Shangri La Handover
4 August 2008
Vaal Mall has a zero tolerance towards illegal parkers and clamp able bodied people that park in the "disabled" parking. Vaal Mall decided that we, as part of our community involvement, are going to donate the funds raised to a disabled organisation in the Vaal Triangle.
Vaal Mall contributed R 4800.00 to Shangri La Community Development.
Shangri-La was established in 2000 and is managed by people with disabilities
for people with disabilities. The project was initiated by people with disabilities who were focused on creating a better life for themselves and others in a
similar situation.
Vaal Mall Dance Showcase Saturday, 19 July 2008
Vaal Mall together with CK Dance Project hosted quite a different kind of
entertainment in the form of a dance showcase. The Woolworths court was
filled with pulsating music and dancers dressed in beautiful, vibrant
costumes.
The dancers showcased styles from different genres and started of with
social dancing, the ladies dressed in beautiful dresses supplied by E2
Designs, from wedding dresses to matric farewell, or even just social, this
piece in the show made everybody see that you can dance with any dress, yes
that anybody can and in fact should be dancing. The show included the more
serious dance styles such as Ballroom and Latin American, Rock 'n Roll and
the very popular Hip Hop. They concluded the show on an entertaining beat
with a show dance item called "DO you Dare".
Wedding Expo 23 - 25 May 2008
Vaal Mall together with the VaalWed Association hosted our first Wedding
Expo from 23 to 25 May 2008. The mall buzzed with excited brides to be and
even the ladies who walked down the isle before had a shimmer in their eyes.
The passages were filled with everything a bride to be needs to make her day
extra special. On Saturday 24 May Models Unlimited & the Associations'
Designers hosted a fashion show with their latest gowns and accessories.
Autumn Flower Show 1 - 5 May 2008
Vaal Mall together with the Vaal Triangle Flower Association hosted the
Autumn Flower Show. The colourful creation filled the major courts and
surrounding passages with themes like "Floral Accessories" and Haunting
Beauty that capture the Senses". The Vaal Triangle Flower Association
combined their annual competition with the Show. This was an ideal way to
spoil all the woman of the Vaal Triangle just before Mother's Day.
Pick 'n Pay Community Project 19 March 2008
Pick 'n Pay Vaal Mall together with Vaal Mall hosted a morning tea for 30
people from Herfsoord and Jeugland old age homes. Pick 'n Pay sponsored
freshly baked hot cross buns and Easter eggs as well as other snacks and
refreshments. Members from the Pick 'n Pay choir entertained the guests and
Magda Steenkamp from Fruitti Nutti spoke to them about preventative
methods for winter illnesses. The Vaal Mall Marketing secured goodie bags
for each of the attendees and Fruitti Nutti gave away to hampers.
Valentines Day 14 February 2008
Vaal Mall together with Sanlam and Chocolat Country Manor spoiled six lucky
winners with romantic hampers. One lucky couple won a weekend for two at
the Chocolat Country Manor.
Kinders vir Kinders
Mardo Photo's, IFM and Vaal Mall hosted the "Kinders for Kinders" project. Parents had the opportunity to enter their children, between the ages of 0 - 6years, for the competition. The entry fee was contributed towards less fortunate children. Mardo Photo's decided to change the lives of 30 disabled children at the June Nichol house in Carter Street, Vanderbijl Park. Carika and Ghoempie were the special guests at this event.
Vaal Mall Ladies Club
Vaal Mall launched their Ladies Club on Friday 26 October 2006. The launch
was held at House of Coffees. Zeta Smit from the Vaal Triangle Flower
Association demonstrated three easy flower arrangements and Foschini Vaal
Mall dressed the models in this summer's newest fashion and two of the
ladies received a make-over.
JIP Teen Competition Winners
Vaal Mall together with Beeld hosted the Jip teen Competition on Saturday 2 June. The winners were Alicia Trollip, Juan van Tonder, Elne Strydom, Jaco Koch and Tasmin Towsen.
Takalani Sesame Characters at Vaal Mall
The 5 Takalani Sesame Characters entertained both young and old on Saturday 23 June at Vaal Mall. Sanlam wealth connection also created plenty opportunity for the children to win spot prizes with the colouring competition that took place the week prior to the fun day as well as on the day.
Elma Postma at Vaal Mall
Elma Postma (Dezi) made the day of a number of fans on Saturday 21 June when she handed out signed postcards as well as autographs. She also did the draw for the Matric Farewell Competition. E2 Design sponsored the dress for the lucky winner. Other sponsors include 90.6 FM, 4 U Design, Barbiere di Vesuvio and Perfect 10.
Mothers' Day Winners
We would like to congratulate the winners of the Mothers' Day competition. The prizes where sponsored by Verimark and Perfect 10 in Vaal Mall.
Participants had to spend R50 at any of the shops in Vaal Mall, fill in the entry forms and hand them in at the Guest Relations Desks in front of Pick 'n Pay and Ackermans. The Four winners where selected out of 1500 entries.
